Hey there!
As a final year student completing my BSc in HRM during an ongoing global pandemic, well, I am familiar with the concept of things being tough. In saying that, throughout unsettling and uncertain times like these, one thing remains constant – hope. And that is why this year I am delighted to be a participant in the 100 Minds initiative!
This social enterprising project literally funds the happiness and wellbeing of children who have not exactly had it easy in their early years. Who wouldn’t leap at the chance to uplift the core purpose of the 100 Minds programme and improve the lives of the little guys? It just makes sense to me!
Along with my effervescent mentor, Anemick, we are determined and fully focused on reaching our target fundraising goal for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. We will play our part in acquiring the hospital the new haemodialysis isolation unit that is so badly needed on site.
The selfish element for me here is the opportunity to apply my studies and academic efforts in real world context. I will muster all my skills of project management, innovation, adaptability, and organisation to push forward to achieve our common objective.
This is an exciting opportunity in empathy; I humbly ask you to join me on this journey. Undoubtedly the children, staff and I would be eternally grateful.
At the end of the day - the smallest changes can be the biggest.
And so it begins!

DAY ONE
The race is officially on! I cannot possibly begin to describe the energy and enthusiasm I have for this project right now! The introductory Zoom conference hosted by Oisín, Terri and an assortment of other mentors and past participants was enlightening. The insightful (and sometimes tear-jerking) testimonials provided an array of pragmatic tools and approaches to running this campaign from the outset and really hit home with how important this truly is.
Lucky for me, I have been paired with the effervescent Anemick who shares in my eagerness to reach and exceed our target! We spoke briefly about how we could possibly achieve that and without revealing too much too soon, we are very excited for what is in the works…

DAY SIX
What a response! I decided to kick things off, I would post a 2-minute video of myself outlining the purpose of 100 Minds and how excited I am to be participating this year. I figured it was wisest to keep it brief, concise, raw and unedited and post the video on IGTV given its up and coming prominence in active online engagement. The video was only intended to inform people of my involvement and that I would be conducting most of my fundraising initiatives in December/January BUT that I was going to leave the link to my donations page in my Instagram bio for those who wanted to help me get the ball rolling from the jump. And wow, people really got on board!
Within the first 24 hours alone, we have already exceeded half our €1,000 goal!
The IGTV video has more than 1,500 views and has been distributed on Instagram stories a multitude of times. The word is certainly getting out there. It is truly humbling to see every day people come out in their droves to support the cause. If this is how we START this process, I think we are very much capable of pushing farther past the target than we may have initially thought!
100 Days? Nah, try 10!

DAY TEN
We have done something truly remarkable together. In just 10 days of this 100-day initiative, we have reached the €1,000 milestone. That is insane, the generosity of all who have contributed thus far has not gone unnoticed! But we are not finished yet.
It’s time to double our efforts and double our target.
Just because we have managed to exceed our initial target does not mean that we are done and dusted. If anything, it is a huge boost in my own personal motivation to push onwards with ambition and vigour.
We are now aiming to raise €2,000 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital in the remaining 90 days of the 100-day initiative!
We can do this!
