Welcome to my 100minds fundraising profile, where I will keep you all updated on my progress over the duration of the campaign. My name is Robyn and I am a 21 year old final year student studying Business and Marketing at Maynooth University. I am extremely honoured to be taking part in 100minds 2019/20.
Founded in 2013, 100minds is a social enterprise project that brings together 100 third level students across Ireland who attempt to raise €100,000 in 100 days for Temple Street Children’s Hospital, an institution close to the hearts of many across the country.
This year, funds raised through 100minds will be split across three critical areas in Temple Street:
1. Life-saving equipment - The equipment replacement fund ensures machines can be upgraded and replaced across the hospital. This year the hospital hopes to purchase eight Nasophayngeal Endoscopes for our ENT and Speech and Language Departments, as well as a VuMax HD A/B Ultrasound Scanner for theatre. These machines quite literally save lives and ensure the little patients have access to the best care possible at a time when they need it most.
2. Patient and parental support services - When a child is sick in hospital it places a huge amount of emotional and financial stress on everyone – parents, siblings and friends – so it’s often the little things that people remember most. The Hope Fund allows the Medical Social Work Department to assess a family’s needs and offer them extra support when needed.
3. Play therapy - When a child is admitted to hospital they see approximately 52 new faces during their visit which can be extremely overwhelming. The Play Therapy Department in Temple Street plays a vital role in helping to create a welcoming, non-clinical and fun environment for the children in care.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile. I am in the process of planning fundraising events, but in the mean time you can donate directly on this page if you wish.
I am so excited for this amazing journey ahead and with your help we can raise a sum of money for Temple Street Hospital which can make an impact. Every single donation helps, no matter how big or small.
