Hey everyone!
I am a final year student studying Event Management, in TU Dublin. I absolutely love what I do as it challenges me and provides me with the skills to make an impact. I am very lucky to be have chosen for the 100minds program, which 100 students aim to raise €100,000 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
This year’s donations will help in the redevelopment of St. Philomena’s Ward and the much-needed equipment, from patient monitors to children entertainment centres. With an overwhelming of 148,000 sick and vulnerable children embarking the doors of Temple Street every year, there was never a question for me to not try my very best to help in any way possible. These children not only deserve every opportunity in life but to have fun and happy childhoods.
To reach my goal, I will be hosting a Clothes Swap event in Dublin city centre, after Christmas in January 2020. I also have a very strong interest in the issues of sustainability and fast fashion so I thought what better way to bring my passions together and create a fun evening for all. After Christmas clearing out the wardrobes will kick-start a fresh New Year, so I am looking for also clothes donations for the event. There will be an admission with all proceeds going to Temple Street. There will be fun spot-prizes and entertainment so it will hopefully be a buzzing little event for all.
Thank you so much for taking the time out to read my profile. Any donations, small or big, whether it’s donated clothes or personal help you can provide, I would be extremely grateful to you all. I can assure you it will make a massive difference to the patients and their families. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me at jayde.smith@mytudublin.ie.
Many thanks,
Jayde
