Hey guys. My name is Rory O’Brien and I’m in 2nd year studying Economics and Finance in UCD. It is a privilege to be part of this great campaign and can’t wait to get started.
The 100minds initiative challenges 100 students to raise €1,000 each in 100 days for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. In the last 4 years over €1,000,000 has been raised for Temple Street and other charities like Childline and Barnardos.
With the funds raised through 100minds this year the hospital is looking to buy new state of the art equipment that will help save the lives of children in the hospital. Another portion of the funds raised will go towards the Hope Fund. This offers financial and emotional support for families who have a child sick in the hospital. Staying in a hospital can be an overwhelming experience for a young child. This is why the ‘Play Therapy’ is very important for the children in Temple Street. It provides a fun environment for the kids during their stay in the hospital. Some of the money raised will go to the Play Department to host special seasonal events at Christmas, Easter, Summer and Halloween to raise the spirits of the children in the hospital.
Temple Street Hospital does incredible work helping sick children and their families and it is an honour to help them continue this great work. Any donation is greatly appreciated and every cent raised will go directly to the foundation. Stay tuned because I will be posting regular updates on this page.
