Hi! I'm Annie and I'm a second year Law with Politics student in UCD. I'm so excited and grateful to have been chosen to participate in 100minds this year, thanks for visiting my profile!
Firstly, what is 100minds? 100minds is an intiative which brings together 100 third level students from all across Ireland to raise €100'000 for Temple Street Children's Hospital in 100 days.
Temple Street is an extremely worthy cause and I think everyone has been touched by it in some way. This year 100minds will be fundrasing for three main things in Temple Street:
Life saving equipment, such as eight Nasophayngeal Endoscopes and a VuMax HD A/B Ultrasound Scanner for Theatre.
Supporting the families of sick children through the Hope Fund and the Medical Social Work Department. When a child is sick and in hospital it can place a huge financial and emotional stress on families and these funds will help to lessen that burden as much as possible.
Finally, helping the children in Temple Street to continue to have a childhood, even while sick. The Play Therapy department is a huge part of this, they play a huge role in helping to create a welcoming environment in Temple Street and make sure the children there don't miss out.
I'll be holding a number of fundraising events over the 100 days both at home in Wicklow and in UCD, however if you'd like to donate to Temple Street directly I'd urge you to hit that big green donate now button at the top of the page here.
You can find out more about Temple Street's great work here: https://www.cuh.ie/who-we-are/ and more about 100minds here: https://www.100minds.org/about
If you've made it all the way down to here you're a star! Thanks for listening!

Thanks so much to the UCD Trampoline Club! On Tuesday 21st we held a pyjama bounce during normal training and the members are incredibly generous, we were able to raise €110! Congrats to the winners of the best PJs competition, Jane and Aideen!
Holy Rosary National School Fundraiser

On Friday the 19th of January, I visited my old primary school to give a talk to the senior students about Temple Street and life after primary school. While I was there they presented me with a cheque for €100 for Temple Street, from the proceeds of charity CDs they had made and sold. It was a great experience, the kids were very interested in Temple Street's work and we had a great Q and A session where I imparted my limited wisdom on secondary school, college and growing up. I'd like to thank the children, and Mary O'Riordan the Principal for the fantastic opportunity, and their time and generosity.
SSTO Fundraiser and Hitting my Goal
Posted: over 4 years ago
I was lucky enough to travel to Edinburgh with the UCD Trampoline Club to compete at the Scottish Student Trampoline Open last weekend. Unfortunately, I managed to injure myself at the very last training session and was unable to compete, but I still traveled to support my club. I decided to turn this in to a fundraising opportunity however, as I had nothing to do all weekend except support, so I created the SSTO Fairy. Competition can be a hectic weekend, wth social events, training, warmup and competition, so for a small fee which went to 100minds and Temple Street, I fetched coffee, sandwiches, water, mixer and glued on eyelashes for the whole weekend. It was so much fun and everyone wholeheartedly bought into it, helping me to reach my goal by the end of the weekend. It was great for Temple Street and great for them, knowing their laziness was for a good cause!
