I'm Stephen and I'm a second year Business Studies student in DCU. This year I'm taking part in the 100minds programme to raise funds for a very worthy cause; Temple Street Hospital. I have 100 days to raise €1,000. I'll be joined by 100 other students with a collective aim of reaching €100,000.

100minds is an initiative that brings 100 of Ireland's top college students and sets them a goal of reaching an agreed sum of money for Irish charities. To date, the social project has raised almost €1million for a variety of Irish charities. I am looking forward to hopping on board and using my skills to raise much needed finance for an extremely worthy cause. Hearing about the impact that the programme has had on past charities made it a no-brainer for me to get involved. I think it's important at times to give back to work that goes on behind the scenes in organisations such as Temple Street.

The proceeds will go towards the building of a new "satellite classroom" for the St. Gabriel's ward. This will give the patients the chance to continue learning whilst in care. We have the unique opportunity of making a lasting effect on the hospital. The classroom would give the children a much needed chance to escape life as a patient and express themselves. I have many happy memories from school at the ages of these kids and to help them escape their hectic lives is huge for me.

Every donation is massive. It's only when you get involved with a worthy charity do you truly appreciate how far donations go. Large or small, any sum will help in the building of this much needed facility.
