Welcome to my 100minds profile. For those of you who don't know me, My name is Shona Hastings. I'm 20years old and I'm a final year Commerce student of NUI Galway. I am delighted to have been selected to participate in 100minds this year. It is a fantastic initiative which brings together like minded individuals from various colleges around Ireland to help raise €100,000 collectively for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. My personal goal is to raise €1,000.
The journey which each of us will take over the next 100days is going to be an exciting, educational and challenging one. I am going to find myself stepping outside my comfort zone to help better the lives of Temple Streets most vulnerable children. This undertaking will not only benefit me but most importantly our efforts will benefit the lives of those in Temple Street Children’s Hospital by funding a new satellite classroom for critically ill children who require around-the-clock care. To find out more about the fantastic work which Temple Street do check out the following link: http://www.templestreet.ie/.
I would be extremely grateful if you could support me on this journey and help me reach my target of €1,000. Every donation counts, no matter how big or small. To donate click the green "Donate Now” button which you should find on the top right side of my profile. Together we can make a big difference to the lives of these sick children and their families.
On January 27th 2017, Aurelie another 100Minds participant and myself held a bag pack in Dunnes Stores Edward Square. For the few hours we were there we managed to raise just under €370 for Temple Street Children's Hospital, which we split between both our fundraising goals.
Our next event takes place on Friday 10th February 2017 when we will be holding a Flag Day on Shop Street with a number of other partipants, an event which we are hoping will be a huge success.
NUIG Charity Take Me Out
Posted: over 3 years ago
Its been a busy few weeks since the launch night! Over the past few weeks I have taken a number of steps to get my fundraising underway.
I was recently involved along with three other NUIG students in organising and running a Charity Take Me Out event. The event proved to a success in which we raised over €1,500 for our chosen charities.
At the moment I am in the process of organising a number of other fundraising activities which I hope to update you on in the coming weeks once they are all confirmed!
