Welcome to my 100minds profile!

My name is Niamh and I'm currently in my second year of Science in UCD. I am absolutely delighted to be involved in 100minds this year! 100minds is a non-profit initiative with all proceeds going to Temple Street Children's University Hospital, which I'm sure everyone will agree is an incredibly worthy cause. Just 100 students are selected to get involved in the programme, and I'm delighted to be one of them.

Following three hugely successful years of 100minds and reaching a total of just under €1 million, we have a lot to live up to. As the name suggests, 100 of us hope to raise a target of €1,000 each to collectively raise at least €100,000 in order to create a new satellite classroom for some of Ireland's bravest kids in St. Gabriel's Ward.

This ward specialises in neuro and craniofacial surgery. Patients require 24/7 care and to have teaching facilities available to them adjacent to the ward will help to fill in gaps in their education and give them a sense of normality and escapism outside of the hospital. We hope that it will improve quality of life for kids that have seen the darkest of days.
