Hey! I am really lucky to been chosen, along with 99 more students, to participate in the 100minds programme this year with the goal to reach collectively 100,000 euro for Temple Street Children's Hospital by the 16th February 2017. Each student is given the task of raising 1,000 euro.
Why am I doing this, you may ask? Well, I am pretty new to this but I have finally decided that I want to give back and help in any way I can. I have realised that doing the smallest thing makes a difference. It is an honour to fundraise in aid of Temple Street and I hope to that my contribution will improve the lives of the children.
This year, 100minds has a special goal in mind- to raise funds for the creation and development of a new satellite classroom for St. Gabriel's Ward. The Ward specialises in neurosurgery and craniofacial surgery and many children in this ward are seriously ill and are unable to avail of the opportunity to receive an education while in hospital.
With the help of your donation, you can too help to significantly improve the lives of these children and provide them with a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills and socialise with teachers and other children in a warm and friendly environment. Not only will the children be provided with a quiet learning space which allows the teachers, doctors and nurses to monitor the child's progress after surgery, but it will also help the child to develop a sense of confidence and normality in themselves after surgery.
Donating is simple, just click the green button on the right hand side of this page and it will take you no more than 3 minutes!
My name is Kateryna Kalinina, I am 19 years old and I am a first year BCL (Law & Society) student in DCU. I am very excited on getting started on my project and making a difference in these children's lives!
