Hey! My name is Colm Cunneen and I'm a first year student studying psychology in NCI. As you can see, this is my fundraiser page for 100 minds. 100 minds is an organisation set up for college students to help raise money together for incredible causes. Since it was setup in 2013, 100 minds has raised over €955,000 for several fantastic charities and I can't express how grateful I am to have been given the opportunity to take part in their campaign this year.
This years' charity is Temple Street Children's Hospital. As you probably already know, Temple Street is a hospital that looks after and cares for countless sick children every day. The work that the nurses, doctors, carers etc. do in Temple Street is beyond amazing and I, personally, couldn't think of a more worthy charity to work towards this year. In saying this, I feel that with your help we can give back to these inspirational workers who do so much and help make a difference in these childrens' lives.
This year, it is my goal to raise €1000 towards building a fully equipped, state of the art satelite classroom in the St.Gabriel's Ward in the hospital. Many of the children in the hospital miss out on weeks to months of regular school due to spending so much time in the hospital. This classroom will provide the children with the chance to learn and reach their full potential as normal again, as well as giving them that vital sense of structure back in their lives.
To help reach the goal of €1000, I plan on organising a few events and fundraisers, so keep an eye out to this page and my Twitter page for updates on upcoming events. To begin, I will shave my head if we hit the halfway mark of €500 (I value my hair a lot :/). Also, once I reach €1,000, I'll undertake any task thats suggested to me by all of you! The most popular suggestion will win!
Together with the other students working together in 100 minds, we hope to collectively raise €100,000 and hopefully even more! All donations made to my page are completely safe and secure and will go directly to Temple Street Children's Hospital. I can promise you that any donation made will make a huge difference to these childrens' lives.
