Hi my name is Aisling Power and welcome to my 100minds profile! 100minds is a social enterprise project founded in 2013, that brings together some of Ireland’s top college students and connects them with one cause to achieve big goals in a short space of time. It was originally started up by a former UCD student but in 2016 Temple Street became the custodian. Since it started, 100minds has raised just under €1million for four Irish charities – a phenomenal achievement. Temple Street Foundation looks forward to working with 100minds students, mentors and partners for many years to come.
Aim: To raise a target of 1000 euro with anything above this being a bonus.
How I plan on achieving this: I plan on having a number of small events along with a larger event scattered over the course of the 100 days. I plan using the skills I have developed over the course of my studies to communicate and promote these events to friends and family and to gain the support I need from different organisations. I will update my blog on how I have got on and if my efforts have been successful or unsuccessful.
What do I hope to get out of the program? One of the main reasons I applied to participate in the program was to grow and develop as a person and to also give back to a great cause. I want to enhance and develop current skills and maybe acquire a few new ones. I want to gain real life experience which will give me new perspectives something I have not acquired from my studies.
I am a Commerce student specialising in Marketing and Finance with the hopes of entering into one of these industries in the future.
