My name is Zach O’Hagan and I am computer science and business student studying in Trinity College. I have been lucky enough to be selected to take part in 100minds this year.
100minds is a social enterprise founded in 2013, that brings together some of Ireland’s ambitious college students and connects them with one cause to achieve big goals in a short space of time. 100minds was founded and is run by Declan Egan, a former UCD student, who after spending time in Google UK now works on 100minds full time. Together with a team of young professionals they have launched 100minds to the brand it is today in just under 2 years.
100minds connects 3rd level students with a chosen charity and encourages them to run fundraising projects that will help develop their skill set and apply their theoretical learnings from college in a practical means. Each student is assigned a mentor to support them throughout their fundraising efforts. Our mentors are a group of recent graduates working in some of Irelands top companies such as Twitter, Google, KPMG, Bank of Ireland, Arthur Cox, Accenture and many more!
This year, the chosen charity is ISPCC Childline. Our goal this year is to substantially support and fund a service that last year took 600,000 calls from Irish children in need. The Childline service has become a vital resource for children and teenagers across Ireland. With this partnership we can not only make history and contribute to such an impactful cause but with a target of €1,000,000 we can ensure that Childline has adequate funding to continue being there for children in need in some of their darkest and most lonely hours. I have plenty of fundraising ideas so keep an eye on my Facebook page and my 100minds profile for upcoming events. Online donations will be hugely appreciated and can be done through my 100 minds profile.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully we can make this as successful as possible!
