My name is Tadhg Hanlon and I’m a second year student in Dublin City University (DCU) studying Marketing, Innovation and Technology (MInT).
I am honoured and excited to be one of the 950 students part of the 100minds team this year. 100minds is a social enterprise who have raised a huge amount of money for Temple Street Children's Hospital, Blossom Ireland and Barnardos over the past two years and, this year, have teamed up with ISPCC’s Childline.
Childline are an amazing charity that work 24/7 to empower, support, and protect young people. Last year Childline answered 460,000 calls from children, 1,208 of which were on Christmas Day. The money raised this year from the 100 minds team will mean that 100,000 calls don’t go unanswered and will contribute towards the €3.5 million needed to keep Childline open.
Over the next few months I will hope to raise over €1,000 through various events and donations and I will keep you updated on this profile.
To those of you donating, on behalf of Childline, the 100minds team and myself, thank you very much.
Easter Tag Rugby Tournament
Posted: about 5 years ago
After weeks of date and venue changes, I'm finally set to hold an Easter tag rugby tournament in Coolmine RFC tomorrow, Saturday 26th March.
The day will begin at 11am with an U16's tournament until 1pm. Following that there will be an adults tournament at 3pm until 5pm. There will be a BBQ voucher for everyone playing and there will also be an ice cream truck on site.
I will also be running a raffle that night. I will be selling tickets all day, 1 strip for €2, 3 strips for €5 and 8 strips for €10. Some of the prizes include various bottles of whiskey and vodka, vouchers for some local barbers and salons, wine and food vouchers and many more prizes! If you want to enter the raffle you can donate here!
I'll update you on the events after the day. Thanks, Tadhg!
