"Success will be when every child in the world has access to a service like Childline and knows that someone who cares is just a phone call away" - Jeroo Billimoria
My name is Peter Fleming and I am a second year Commerce & Accounting student in NUIG. This year I am thrilled to be a part of the 100 minds team, where our aim is to individually raise €1,000 for this years brilliant charity that is ISPCC Childline. As a team we hope to raise €1,000,000 for this great charity.
Late last year, the ISPCC announced that due to extreme funding pressures, Childline - their 24 hour confidential listening service- was under threat of closing its night time service. To keep their lines open they have launched the Childline Emergency Appeal. Thankfully, this generated enough immediate funding to keep Childline’s 24 hour service open. However, for the long-term survival of Childline we need sustained support.
Childine is a fantastic charity which provides a crucial service to the young people in Ireland. Over 460,000 calls from children were answered by this charity last year, 300 of which dealt with the widespread problem of suicide. Childline does a vital part in maintaining the happiness of children in this country by simply answering their calls. Last year over 1,200 children's calls were answered on Christmas Day. It's pretty clear from the numbers Childline is a very important charity and one that we should all support and get behind!
I am currently organising several fundraiser events that will be taking place over the next month or two, which will hopefully be successful in raising as much money as possible for Childline. If you would like to get involved in any way please do.
All donations, of any size are much appreciated, no donation is too small and anything will help in achieving this years goal of raising €1,000,000 for Childline. To donate simply click the green "DONATE NOW" button on the top right of your screen.
Thanks again, Peter
Childline Christmas Raffle 2015
Posted: almost 5 years ago
I'm currently running a Christmas Raffle at the moment in Galway Golf Club, the prize for the lucky winner will be a Christmas Teddy Bear! Thanks to all the staff helping out in the club in Salthill, it is much appreciated.
The Raffle Ticket itself charges €3 per line or €5 for two lines. It is very nearly completed and the draw will be made once all lines are bought. It is a simple and easy way of raising some funds for Childline over the Christmas holidays.
Childline Christmas Day Swim 2015 !!

On the 25th of December, me and 11 of my friends will dive into the sea in Salthill at 9 o'clock to raise awareness and funds for ISPCC Childline. I feel it is vital to let the people of Galway know of the vital services Childline provide to the children of this country.
I am managing a project where my friends and I will interact with the people of Galway and discuss 100 Minds and our aim to raise €1,000,000 for Childline this year. I am hoping people will support us and donate to the cause and possibly attend our plunge into the sea on Christmas Day.
I really appreciate the support of my friends and their generosity in helping me achieve my goals and objectives. I don't question that this project will be a success and bring in much needed donations for ISPCC Childline.
