I'm Meadhbh and I'm delighted to be working with 100minds this year!
We plan on raising €1,000,000 (if not more!) for the ISPCC's Childline, a precious resource for children all over Ireland. They aim to empower, support, and protect young people while offering 24hr free and confidential listening and support services.
I am currently in my final year of European Studies in Trinity College and am majoring in Spanish after studying abroad in the University of Seville last year. I also study French, Islamic Gender studies, European Intellectual and Gender History and I play the cello in Trinity Orchestra!
Through 100minds and with the help of my mentor and fellow volunteers, I aim to raise as much money as possible through innovative, original and enjoyable fundraising ideas using my own creativity and skill set. Thank you so much for stopping by and make sure to keep up to date with my fundraising and upcoming events!!

I was the early bird who caught the worm this morning at a 7.15 am weights training class before completing my 5km on a treadmill. I am hoping that improving my fitness levels all round will help me complete this challenge. Challenge being the apt choice of word at the moment!.
Final thoughts: The cigarettes have got to go.
Turning that frown upside down

Myself and Aifric McCarthy were so excited to get started with our fundraising after the launch night of the 2016 100minds campaign. As our final year in college promised to be loaded with readings, assignments and the ever-closer whiff of the dreaded examination period, we decided that fundraising through innovative and original ways would be the perfect antithesis to our final year as students (for now!).
We decided to throw a NYE party as we had never seen done before. We organised a venue, a guestlist, sponsored drinks, entertainment of all sorts and of course the date itself! Unfortunately our beloved plan fell through just weeks before the big day. The venue pulled out and we were left with a blank slate and some disappointed friends. We had been warned about having a 'Plan B' and although it was a disheartening turn in our fundraising journey, we have come out the other end fighting!
We decided not to dwell on the disappointment and to focus on what we could do and how. We contacted the Dean of students in Trinity and booked a place in the Arts Block Concourse for the first Monday of term in January and decided to get on the health bandwagon! We contacted Green Beards Juice company in Ranelagh who kindly donated nearly 50 juices for us to sell on the day. We stocked up on healthy ingredients and got the aprons on!
Through the sale of the Green Beards Juices and a plethora of Raw Brownies, Coconut, Pecan and 'Nutella' Protein Balls, 'Reese's' Cups, Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, Oat Cookies, Chocolate Bark and more, we raised €400 and helped staff, students and bewildered American tourists get off to a great start in 2016!
Stay posted to see what more is to come!!!

I'm really excited about my next fundraising initiative as I know it will be a challenge but for an incredibly worthwhile cause.
I've decided to complete 100km for 100minds in the month of February!
I will run, jog or cycle 5 consecutive kilometres 5 times a week for 4 weeks; totalling 100km! I know that somedays will be more difficult than others and that I am bound to run up (see what I did there!) against some pretty harsh weather, but I think it will be really valuable to commit myself to something that will challenge me.
Every penny that I raise will be logged on my personal 100minds page and I will be posting updates along the way of my progress, my journeys and more! Keep an eye out!
Week one over and out!!

I'm delighted to be 25km into my 100km Challenge! It's been difficult but with enough sleep, variety and stretches it's possible! Roll on week two!

I completed my 5km today in an intensive spinning class and am off to a flying start! I'm overjoyed with the positive response that I have received and with the influx of donations. Thank you all so much for giving what you can.
This is a challenge that I have set for myself and am driven to complete! I could not be happier to be committing to it for the ISPCC'S Childline. Visiting the Childline offices and call centre was an experience that I will carry with me each and every step of the way. The work of the volunteers and the subject matter of some of the calls is harrowing. Seeing this in action emphasises the significance of the service that is currently struggling to finance 24 hour availability and 100% of call answerability.
Thank you all again!
Nearing the end of week one...

When my alarm woke me at 6.30am yesterday for my spinning class I was less than enthusiastic, but I powered through. I completed 6.8km in the class and was done for the day!
Today, Thursday of week one, I managed to complete 9.6km in the same amount of time and am feeling wrecked! Due to shin splints I've been suffering with over the last few weeks I have had to be creative in completing my challenge but hope to be able to get back running by late next week If i am diligent with my stretches etc.
It's a long road but the support I am receiving is keeping me going!
Please keep the donations coming!!!!

It's week 4 and we're nearly there! It's been tough but I really want to go out with a bang so I'm stepping my game up this week and pushing myself that bit further!
I'm having 'A night in Seville' flamenco festival fundraiser on wednesday night in Pacinos which I am really excited for so that will break up the week and the KM's nicely! Sponsorship has been steady I just hope that people are feeling generous in the last stretch!
