My first fundraising event is a coffee morning which is taking place Saturday the 6th of February at my house in Killarney from 10am until 1pm. I am also organizing a pub quiz with my friend Kayleigh on the 25th of February in the UCD Clubhouse Bar which is starting at 7:30pm, we will also be holding a raffle on the 25th.
I'm so excited and humbled to be taking part in this amazing organisation, 100minds, to help raise €1,000,000 for ISPCC Childline, a cause that helps to protect children 24 hours a day. Childline receives the majority of its 2,300 calls and messages per day after 6pm each evening, when most other support services are closed. This part of the service was nearly closed down because of a lack of funding.
Childline receives just 10% Government funding which means that 90% of its costs have to be raised through the generosity of individual donors and corporate supporters. 100minds is providing a platform for Irish students to raise money for this vital service. Every donation will make a difference.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love children, and so, helping in any way I can to keep these services running means the world to me! Childline's inspiring vision is to see an Ireland where all children are heard and valued.
I will be organising events from now until April to hopefully raise €1000. I will be keeping you all updated on this page and on my Facebook page in the coming weeks and months. Any and all donations are appreciated and can be made through this page or can be given to me.
