Hi! Thanks so much for visiting my 100minds page! My name is Lyndsey Keane and I'm currently in second year studying Nutraceuticals in Health and Nutrition. I'm extremely excited and honoured to be a part of this years 100minds team.
'100minds is a social enterprise founded in 2013, that brings together some of Ireland’s top college students and connects them with one cause to achieve big goals in a short space of time. 100minds was founded and is run by Declan Egan, a former UCD student who after spending time in Google UK now works on 100minds full time.'
100minds connects 3rd level students with a chosen charity and encourages them to run fundraising projects that will help develop their skill set and apply their theoretical learnings from college in a practical means. Each student is assigned a mentor to support them throughout their fundraising efforts. Our mentors are a group of recent graduates working in some of Irelands top companies such as Twitter, Google, KPMG, Bank of Ireland, Arthur Cox, Accenture and many more!
This year, the chosen charity is Childline. Each student has a goal of raising at least €1000 in hope to raise €1million for Childline, a very deserving company. Childline recieve 10% government funding, meaning that 90% of their funds are earned through fundraising! Last year, Childline almost had to terminate their 24hour service because of lack of available funds. Thankfully, enough money was eventually raised to stop this. It is our goal to prevent this from ever happening as over 500,000 children use this service yearly.
With the help of fundraising events and donations I hope to reach the goal before the deadline of 15th April 2016. All donations, no matter how big or small, are hugely appreciated and all of the money raised goes straight into Childline's account. All donations can be made through this page, cash or cheque.
A huge thank you in advance from everyone at 100minds, Childline, and me!! Keep an eye out for upcoming events! Lyndsey Keane
