My name's Louise Hanlon, welcome to my 100 minds profile page! I'm a third year BESS student at Trinity College Dublin and am delighted to be part of 100 minds this year!
100 minds is a social enterprise that raises money for charities by bringing together 3rd level students to organise fundraising projects. This year the charity that we are fundraising for is Childline.
Childline is Ireland's only 24 hour listening service and also provides an online and text service for all children. Any money that you donate goes directly to Childline, which is what I think sets 100 minds apart from other fundraising organisations. This funding will go directly towards the training of Childline's volunteers and to ensure Childline's phones remain open 24 hours a day. Last year the 24 hour service nearly had to stop due to lack of funding, but with your help that won't be the case this year.
Childline is such a worthy cause and the money that we raise will give hundreds of thousands of children a voice to be heard.
My goal is to raise €1000 by April 2016. Donations can be made here on this page (by clicking the green donate now button!) in cash, or by cheque. Any donation, no matter how big or small, is so so much appreciated!
The Comedy Fundraiser was a great success raising €760! Thanks to everyone who bought tickets!
Thanks for the support!

Hit my target!
Posted: about 7 years ago
The past few months have gone great fundraising wise. I am heading off on Erasmus this term, so when I found out I was chosen for 100 minds I knew I had to hit the ground running so I would be able to meet my target before going away! I brainstormed lots of idea and found that one quick way to raise money would be a comedy night at the Laughter Lounge. I got in contact with the Laughter Lounge mid November and set the date for the 3rd of December. I made a Facebook event and advertised around college. I was able to put tickets on sale in the TCD Students Union Shop as well as selling them myself which was great. The Childline Comedy Fundraiser was a great success and I made €760 from it!
So, to raise the remainder of the cash I had to do something else. In keeping with this years theme of 'value-creation', I have run a few classes, for less tech-savvy people, teaching them to use email, social media, the internet, applications on their phone, or anything technology related that they needed help with.
As well as this, lots of generous people have clicked onto my 100 minds page and generously donated (big thanks to you all xx). I have now reached my target of €1,000, just in time before I head off on Erasmus!
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me so far!
