Just a quick little update on my event. I will be hosting an Opera Night in my golf club/ workplace in April. I am currently in the early stages of preparation. I have confirmed a date for Saturday 9th April 2016. I am aware that this is leaving it late, as the 100minds Closing Ceremony will take place 6 days later. However, with proper execution, this event has great potential. Performers have been confirmed, so the next stages of planning are marketing, ticket pricing etc.

I am absolutely delighted to say that I have hit my fundraising target.

On Saturday 9th April 2016, I held a musical evening with a four course meal in Foxrock Golf Club. 82 people were in attendance, including Veronica Dunne of the Royal Irish Academy of Music. €3,300 was raised through ticket and raffle sales.

Ann Murray (DBE), one of Ireland's most prestigious opera singers, traveled over from England to provide a performance free of charge. She performed a range of operatic and classical contemporary songs after dinner, with Ronan Murray accompanying her on the piano.

At the end of the night we held a raffle, with first prize being a round of golf for 4 at the K Club.

It was a great night for everyone, and most importantly there was huge generosity from all the members towards Childline.
