Hey, thanks for stopping by my 100 minds fundraising page! My name is Eimear Langan and I'm currently in my 3rd year of Marketing in DIT.
I am proud to say that I've been given the opportunity to take part in the 2015/2016, 100 minds event, its largest fund raiser to date, for childline. I'm excited to be participating in the project this year as I have seen how it has developed over the last two years, and the amazing work it has been able to do for Blossom Ireland, Barnardos and temple street.
This year 100 minds goal is to raise 1 million euro for childline. The childline service is in desperate need of funds. The the charity itself needs to raise 5 million each year to stay running, unfortunately this can be challenging, this is why I urge anyone to donate to any of the 100 minds profiles.
This project will hopefully give me the opportunity to help develop my own personal skills, meet new people and in general become more confident in my in working to achieve goals I set. This is what I think is so unique about 100 minds, not only does it allow you to work for a fantasic cause, but it also allows you to better yourself in the process.
Myself and three other 100 minds participants attempted to hold a valentines day themed ball... and well, failed miserably. To be fair, luck was not on our side. Several days after announcing, and officially booking the venue the BESS ball (one of the biggest college nights of the year) was announced for the same night. This subsequently led to our ball being cancelled a week before the event was due to take place, meaning I had to refund a total of 17 tickets.... This event required we sold 100 tickets to just break-even.
But fear not, past failure will not stop me from raising my €1000 goal! For me, and my partner, Carla Bass (The brown haired one in my profile pic) have an even better, slightly less ambitious event under way! A PUB QUIZ.. Event goes live 10/03/2016.
