100minds is a social enterprise founded in 2013, that brings together some of Ireland’s top college students and connects them with one cause to achieve big goals in a short space of time. 100minds was founded and is run by Declan Egan by a former UCD student who after spending time in Google UK now works on 100minds full time. Together with a team of young professionals they have launched 100minds to the brand it is today in just under 2 years!
This is my 100 minds page! I'm currently planning for my event which will happen sometime in the next few months so please check out my page when you get a chance for updates!
This year, 100 minds is hoping to fundraise €1,000,000 for Childline who need this funding in order to maintain their 24 hour service. Without this funding thousands of children in desperate need of support will be affected. However, if the 100 minds team reaches our target we can help fund an estimated 100,000 calls. Personally this is a cause near and dear to me due to some of my family member's work with Childline over the past few years so I'm very eager to reach my €1000 target.
In regards to my event I'm going to do my best to make it as enjoyable as I can to ensure we can raise as much for Childline as possible. I really appreciate you taking the time to read this first update and i'm looking forward to keeping you posted the progress.
End of the Journey

As this year's 100 minds comes to a close I want to reflect on this fundraising campaign. I was delighted at how willing all my friends and family were to support me when it came to help in organising the event, plugging the event and donating. I have to say a special thanks to my two best friends Ronan Horgan and Jack Kerrigan without you two the event would not have been as much of a success. Also I could not have done the event without the help of my sound engineer Richard Byrne. I learned that arranging an event like this was a lot more difficult then I had previously anticipated and this has given me a huge amount of respect for people who arrange these kinds of charity events. Most importantly the joy I felt from the knowledge that the money raised will be going towards helping support children in need has now given me the motivation to pursue these charity fundraising campaigns for the rest of my life. With this project I have learned this deeply important lesson and am truly excited for future fundraising campaigns.
Thank you so much to all those who helped reach this target and we can assure you that the funds raised will support a most worthy cause.
