My name is Deirdre, I'm 18 and I'm currently studying Arts in University College Dublin.
Im so excited to be apart of 100minds this year and could not be happier that this year we will be trying to reach an amazing fundraising goal of 1 million euro, think about all the calls childline could hear with that amount of money, now while I don't have the exact figure (maths has never been my strong point) I can guess its a lot of calls!
This year 100minds is focused on Childline, an important helpline which aims to support the youth of our country. Childline is struggling to stay open, and was close to having to shut down its night time service last year. It needs your help. Childline is vital to the children of Ireland who often feel like their voice isn't been heard. Please donate what you can to keep this amazing service open.
100mind's goal is to raise €1,000,000 and has asked students participating in this fundraising initiative to each raise €1,000 by April 2016, which seems like a long time away but I've been told by past participants it just flies by. My personal goal is to raise as much as I can, with €1,000 being my minimum target.
I'm so ready and excited to start my journey with 100minds where I'll hopefully raise a bit of bob for a great charity all the while developing new skils through organising fundraising events over the next few months to support a cause that so desperately needs funds.
Hopefully by next April I'll have put the fun in FUNdraisng!
Please, any donation would be greatly appreciated, big or small. I am well aware money is tight but have one less chocolate bar this week and instead donate that money to this fantastic cause.

It hasn't been easy getting these charity events organised. I was dealt a lot of rejections but I learnt from them and moved on better and stronger. My Charity Tennis tournament is moving in the right direction which is great!
