This year, I am delighted to say that i'm a participant for the 100 minds campaign. I hope to make a significant difference and have fun while doing it. I see this as a wonderful opportunity to get connected and involved in something even better in our community.
Last year ISPCC Childline were almost forced to close their 24 hour service due to lack of funding however with the help from you and all the participants of 100 minds, this year, we hope to prevent this from happening to such a well deserving company, who help the lives of so many vulnerable children.
What inspired me to do this was when I thought about when I was a child and if I knew the world out there would do something like this just for my happiness it would change things for me; give me a positive outlook and a healthy mental attitude, which is all you can hope for a kid.
ChildLine supports this, this is the work they do and I want to contribute.
There are many ideas a few participants and myself have teamed up to achieve our goal. White Collar Boxing night is our biggest one so far. We're hoping to sell thousands of tickets and hoping this will make our contribution!
I also hope to carry a bucket for a few morning to carry on the campaign. Also I hope to host a lads Auction which has also sparked some interest in our college!
Lastly, a friend of mine has knitted 100 little hats for premature babies. I hope to sell these hats for 5 to 10 euro per hat and the person who buys this hat can add a stories, anecdote or an inspirational message to go with the hat for when the child can open when they are old enough to read. This i don't know how to set up yet but all ideas will be accepted.
