Hello, my name is Aisling and I am a 2nd Year student in UCD, studying Geography and Information Studies. I am thrilled to be one of many students chosen to be involved in this years 100minds campaign.
100minds is a volunteer-run, non profit organization, founded in 2013 by Declan Egan, a former UCD student who, after spending time in Google UK now works full-time in 100minds. 100minds brings together some of Ireland’s top students and connects them with one cause to achieve big goals in a short space of time.
This year 100minds is teaming up with ISPCC ChildLine! Last year alone ChildLine responded to over 450,000 calls from Irish children in need. They almost couldn't keep their nighttime services open last year due to funding. With our goal of raising €1,000,000 for ISPCC ChildLine, we can ensure that they receive adequate funding and continue to help children across the country
Every donation big or small would make a huge difference and I would be very grateful. The donation process is transparent. This means myself and 100minds will never have access to the money as it is donated directly to ISPCC ChildLine.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. I am very excited to share all of my fundraising plans with you very soon!

Beginning to success

HELLO everyone :)
So, first week back at college and last night was the Accelerate event in the Bord Gais Theatre. At the event, Sage the main sponsor for the event were there and gave a wonderful speech on how you can improve your interview and your CV. These tips were more than I thought I could have gotten out of less than half an hour, and with that I went straight home and added, removed and fixed my CV. There were speakers there who specialise in maximising potential. Some of Ireland's top graduate recruitment companies attended, such as Twitter, Air BnB, Jameson and I really was thankful for the useful tips on how to land a dream internship or graduate job.
Declan Egan, founder of 100Minds announced the 100minds Award Categories. Within this category were 10 badges of achievements that will be acknowledged, when the fundraising is completed. This is exciting but also has driven my motivation to go over and beyond what I can do in any way to go above my target (1,000) but to also show everyone how much I really got out of the experience taking part in the 100minds project. Here is hoping that I may be successful in receiving a badge.
I want to say a HUGE thank you to my past school colleagues, college, family and friends and more for donating whatever you could. Whether small or big, these donations are driving me more and with that I also have an announcement to follow in the next post.
Stay tuned,
Aisling

With that time frame, so much can be achieved.

Target of €1,000 reached and surpassed!

So, as you can all imagine I am thrilled. €1,400 was raised in the bake sale/ bake off in my primary school - Scoil Mhuire Girls National School, Lucan. The effort that went into the school girls baking cakes and setting up their classrooms to sell the cakes was amazing. Seeing all the teachers who once taught me and how proud they were of this amazing entrepreneur opportunity whilst also fundraising for 100Minds chosen charity this year- ISPCC and Childline was a great feeling. I cannot thank everyone enough, especially Declan Egan the founder of 100Minds to prompt me along and also to my mentor Ciara Clogher, (MACH) at Microsoft for being the best mentor for keeping my fundraising persistence going and always being there if I have any question at all, no matter how crazy.
I lodged all of the bake sales money today and hit an even bigger goal with friends and family donations. This total figure brings me to €1,600. This brings me into the 12th person to have reached one of the highest amount of money fundraised out of almost 1,000 students. This motivates me and I am so happy to be involved in this.
After speaking to Declan today, this has my creativity going for hosting another fundraising event. My new goal, after getting this far, is €2,000.
I'll keep you all posted with my ideas or plan.
