Hi Everyone!
Welcome you to my 100minds fundraising profile.
Firstly let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 21 and in my final year studying English and Drama in UCD. I'm passionate about the arts, with acting and performing having played a large part in my adolescence. It has been a pleasure to study Drama, Theatre and English literature throughout college. Over the last couple of years I have began to get involved in various charity projects, all centred around children. I have worked with the SOAR foundation helping young people in Ireland to reach their potential. I have also worked with Indreni, a children's charity based in Nepal who support children living in poverty.
I am delighted and privileged to be one of the 150 students chosen to be involved in this years 100minds campaign. 100minds is a volunteer-run, non profit organisation, founded in 2013, that brings together some of Ireland’s top students and connects them with one cause to achieve big goals in a short space of time.
Each student is given the challenge of raising €1,000 each in a creative and entrepreneurial way to collectively make a large donation to charity. This years chosen charities are Barnardos and Blossom Ireland.
Barnardos Ireland work with children and their families to provide a direct service, support and advice. Please visit their website: http://www.barnardos.ie/what-we-do.html
Blossom Ireland offers care for children with intellectual disabilities. Please visit their website: http://www.blossomireland.ie/default.asp
This year the overall goal for 100minds is to raise €150,000 or more for these two exceptional charities. My personal goal is to raise a €1,000 or more by running various fundraising events, which I am currently in progress with. I will keep you updated on my progress on the 'updates' section of this page. Alternatively you can visit my Facebook page or Linkedin page to follow my updates there.

Boxing night!
Posted: over 8 years ago
I am very excited to announce my first fundraising event which will be happening on Thursday December 18th in Dandelion, Stephens green.
I have decided to organise a white collar boxing night with 30 of my friends going head to head for an amazing cause.
We will be training for 2 nights a week starting on Monday the 10th of November for 6 weeks to prepare for the big night.
Tickets will be sold online and I will be sharing the link where you can purchase them very soon.
In the meantime, any support and sponsorship to make the night a success would be hugely appreciated.
Each fighter will be raising their own training funds but there are some costs on the night that I would love to get taken care of to ensure 100% of the ticket sales go to charity.
I'm very excited to get training and watch this space for our event page and ticket sales page which will be coming very soon!
Thanks,
Sally
'Box 4 Barnardos' less than 2 weeks away!

Hello there!
So myself and 21 other fighters have just finished our 4th week of intense boxing training for the White Collar event on the 18th of December. The training has gone tremendously well with every one of the fighters putting in a huge effort each week. Today was our first day sparring with our opponents in a ring. All I can say is that it is A LOT different to training in the gym! It feels pretty unnatural to be hitting my friend straight in the face but I have to admit it also feels good! The minute and a half rounds are insanely intense and fly by! Some of the boys walked out of training today battered and bruised but we were all buzzed leaving the boxing club.
Ticket sales are going very well and all of the fighters have handed in their fundraising money this week. The online donations are also still trickling is which is a huge bonus. You can buy tickets here:
https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/box-4-barnardos-tickets-14241269019
This week as well as studying for my exams I'll be rounding up raffle prizes, planning the logistics for the night, pushing ticket sales and of course training hard! I should be more stressed but to be honest the support and commitment from all of the fighters and from friends and family supporting the event is giving me huge excitement and getting me through an otherwise dull exam period!
You can follow all of the updates, fight releases, videos and pictures leading up to the night on the Facebook event page here:

I'm delighted I went through with running a White Collar event despite the massive organisation involved. I have always wanted to box and I am loving the training even more than I thought. It feels good to be taking up a new sport with friends all for a good cause.
More updates to come next week. Stay tuned!

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who came to 'Box 4 Barnardos' on Thursday 18th of December. I'm delighted with how the night went and very proud to have raised €7,000 so far for two amazing children's charities, Barnardos and Blossom Ireland. To everyone who bought tickets and raffle tickets, this sum is a testament to your generosity. I want to take this time to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of the amazing fighters who have put in 6 weeks of training and commitment and who without, the night couldn't have gone ahead. Max O'Flaherty, Conor O'Sullivan, William Courtney, Brian James Kingston, Tim O'Mahony, Conal O Doherty, Derbhala Murphy, Ciara Dwyer, Nick Delehanty, Paddy Beamen, Irene Molloy, Kay Tea Taylor, Katarina Ikonia Marissa Casillas, Eimear McCrann, Jj Shovlin, Ryon Fitz and Susana Mc Kenna. Thank you to Richard Dwyer, Charles Lorigan, and Stephanie Lowe for taking part in the training. You added a great buzz to the sessions and your donations are greatly appreciated. I also want to thank our brilliant trainers Gary Burns, Paddy Headon, Sean Headon from Chapter2fitness in Sandyford. They put us through our paces and worked with us far past the scheduled training hours, for that, thank you! If anyone is considering taking up some boxing training, these are your men! Thank you to all of the friends, parents of friends and local businesses who were so kind to donate some of the fantastic raffle prizes for the night, and to all of the generous people who have donated to my 100minds profile online. Thank you to RothcoSocial+, Paddy Power, Mars, Stelfox, Essential Training and A&L Goodbody who have been so supportive in sponsoring the event. Thank you to Bobby Doyle in Dandelion Bar & Nightclub for allowing us to turn his dance floor into a boxing ring, and his club into a scene from Rocky for the night! Thank you to the medics, corner men and referee who made sure everything ran smoothly and to the two gorgeous ring girls Zoe Hamilton and Vanessa Deegan. Thanks to our two MC's Rob Lipsett and my brother Brian for providing superb narrative on the night and for remaining professional and patient throughout. Thank you to my incredible friends, boyfriend and family for putting up with me having tunnel vision for the last few months. Lastly, thank you to Declan Egan and 100minds for giving me the platform to set myself this challenge. I am more and more impressed with Dec's work in 100minds everyday and would thoroughly recommend anyone looking to give back as well as personally challenging themselves to get involved. Apologies for taking up so much of your news feed up on a sunny Saturday morning, but I'm truly thankful for all of the support and feel it was necessary to express this. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
