大家好! Welcome to my 100minds Profile. As you can see I am a Commerce and Chinese student currently in my final year.
I am delighted to say that I am involved in the 2014/2015 programme of 100 minds. This year, along with a number of other Irish University students, we are working together to raise €150,000 for two very worthwhile charities: Barnardos Ireland & Blossom Ireland.
For those of you who don't know Barnardos Ireland work with over 8,900 children and families annually providing direct services, advice and practical support in 40 centres, based in some of the most disadvantaged communities in Ireland. Blossom Ireland offers children with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to access what every other typically developing child can without difficulty.
Over the next 100 days I will strive to reach my target of raising €1000. I hope to do this by organising an event and through very kind donations!
Keep an eye on my profile for updates on my progress and how my fundraising is going.

It's hard to believe the amount of money and awareness raised already about 100minds. It's amazing to see the impact we have all made already! So I'm delighted to announce that I have organised my first bit of fundraising. As a result of sharing my 100minds profile a friend of mine approached me and asked would I be interested in raising money along with a play she was directing.. Of course I jumped at the opportunity! UCC Dramat are producing Peter Pan the play in the Granary Theatre, Cork. In line with this I am going to do a bake sale on campus in UCC next Wednesday the 12th. This is going to be my first big step in raising money for these two amazing charities and helping to raise awareness about the play! I am also hoping to have a raffle on the nights of the play and have buckets for donations! Keep an eye out for more information on my progress and the finalised details :)
Beginning of Fundraising

I've had a busy week with my first fundraising events having taken place. To my luck the sharing of my 100minds profile on Facebook brought me a great opportunity. A friend of mine asked if I would be interested in doing some fundraising for these two charities, coinciding with a play she was directing. Of course I agreed! How could I turn down such a great opportunity. The first event I organised was a bake sale which I did on Campus here in UCC. I also asked the Barnardos society in UCC to come along which was great. I did the bake sale last Wednesday and the turn out great was great! Some of my friends very kindly did some baking which helped boost the sales. Amazingly we managed to raise €130. Following that, the play; Peter Pan, began on Thursday and ran until Saturday. At each performance I organised a raffle and also received some very kind donations. I haven't finalised how much was raised but I will certainly be updating that very soon. The play turned out to be a huge success and I was so thrilled to be involved. It was great to see some great prizes being donated by some Cork businesses. Altogether, I've had a great start to my fundraising. I'm also delighted to see some new donations on my profile. Keep an eye out on plans for my next event. Thank you to everyone who has helped me out so far.
The Last Hurdle

So after much deliberation I decided to host a coffee morning at my house. I had gone through so many different ideas and for various reasons they didn't work out. I was beginning to lose motivation but realised how important this is and realised I had to do something even if it wasn't the craziest of events. I've realised now that keeping it simple is so worth it. With college and everything else going on it was difficult to find the time do organise a large event. But it seems that I didn't have to. As a result of a wonderful coffee morning I have now reached my target and I am thrilled. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that helped me along the way and donated.
