Welcome to my 100minds profile page!
I'm a first year Commerce Student in UCD and after hearing about the success of last year’s 100minds project and the positive impact it had on so many people, I knew that I had to get involved and I am delighted to be part of the 2014/15 team!
100minds is a brilliant opportunity for students to make a positive contribution to society. The overall goal is for 150 students to raise €150,000 collectively for Barnardos (www.barnardos.ie) and Blossom Ireland (www.blossomireland.ie) two fantastic children’s charities. Both charities do remarkable work and make such a huge difference to the lives of many children.
My approach is to fundraise in a creative and innovative way. I hope to organise a number of events by applying practical business and management skills over the coming months to reach my target fund raising total. I will use this page to update you all on my plans and progress.
Every cent counts and I urge everyone to donate as much or as little as they can to the cause. 100minds is unique, as all funds are sent directly to Barnados and Blossom Ireland making the concept simple and transparent.
Donating is simple. Just click the red ‘Donate Now’ button on the top right hand corner of your screen. If you leave your name along with your donation, I can show my appreciation by sending a text, tweet or Facebook message to you! Feel free to contact me at andrewmarkhowell@gmail.com
Thanks in advance for your support!

Thank you to all those who have contributed thus far I am overwhelmed by the early donations especially corporate donations and Garrett McCarthy from Hugh McCarthy and Associates! My revised target is now to raise at least 1k+ in fundraising on top of direct donations for my main event, details and updates soon to follow!
Kick-off

For the past number of weeks I've researched a number of companies that have a corporate social responsibility strategy and part of that strategy is donating to charity. I've emailed them looking for some small donations to my campaign!

Delighted to say that the venue and band have been organised for my main fundraising event that will take place in January, big thanks to my pal Jack Taylor who has agreed to play! There's just a few last details to sort out before I can create an event on Facebook. I'm also continuing to contact and communicate with some companies and directors regarding sponsorship and direct donations.

Very happy to have raised €170 yesterday at the Christmas market held in Scoil Colm in Crumlin, €30 of which went to stall rental. This was done by collecting any new and unused goods that family and friends had (mainly jewellery, DVD's and clothes) and selling them on with all proceeds going to Barnardos and Blossom Ireland!
***Also hoping to have the Facebook page for my main event live by the end of this week!
