So I finally got round to setting up my profile and ideas are finally starting to take form- better late than never!

For my first fundraiser, I'm currently planning a New Year's Day walk - on the 1st of January, would you believe? Hopefully it'll be a nice way for people to start the year. Details are still being finalized (how many mince pies to provide for afters?) so watch this space...

I was woken up this morning by the rain and wind against my window, which is from ideal when it's the day you've planned your charity walk. I sent out a mass text pushing the walk back by half an hour and spent the following two hours watching the rainfall radar on met.ie praying for the weather to clear up for even an hour!

Thankfully it did, and at 12.30pm everyone met at Bull Island and we walked out to the Doghouse Blues Tea Room in Howth. It ended up being exactly what everyone needed, and we were all feeling a lot fresher by the end of it. We finished up with some mulled wine, mince pies, and hot chocolates in the Doghouse. It was a huge success and thanks to everyone's incredibly generous donations I surpassed my target! It's such an amazing cause and every cent is going to make a difference. I absolutely could not have done it without the help of my family and friends, especially mum and dad. And of course, a massive thanks to the Doghouse, especially for the marshmallows in the hot chocolate...
