Just a quick update with the competition a week away

After a few set backs, its finally looking like things are going to work out for the Trinity World Cup!

So far we have 18 teams signed up so there is space for 2 more!

The formidable Moleicester City have emerged as early tournament favourites but the bookies have labelled Total Eclipse of Ian Harte as ones to watch. Old Boys FC captain, Conor Williams, has promised to lead 'a warm, outgoing team, driven by values of respect and integrity'. Tekkerslovakia's captain, Bryan Conroy, has been quick to defend his team over alleged narcotics abuse at the weekend, labelling accusations as 'ridiculously fabricated horsesh**t!' One must wonder, however, if they're heads will be in the right place come their opening game on Wednesday

Elsewhere, Call of Guti were confirmed as the tournament's most arrogant team with their captain, Patrick Meade, seen referring to himself in the third person on numerous occasions.

I'm nearly at the half way point of my event and things are going swimmingly thus far. Players seem to be enjoying the competitive spirit that the tournaments taken on and I'm getting great feedback online and in person.

Congratulations to the Trinity World Cup champions, Bend it Like Benen! The boys were ruthless en route to the final scoring goals for fun. Commiserations are with the runners-up, Ireland, who were gracious in defeat.

Thanks to everyone who came out over the past week! Together we raised over €1,000 for Temple Street and still have a few donations to come in! I had a great time running the tournament and hopefully it becomes an annual occasion!
