I managed to raise the above amount through three streams. Below is a list of and then a brief explanation of said streams. These are followed by my goals if I have the good fortune of participating again next year!

Streams: -Event organisation -Online fundraising campaign -Corporate fundraising

Explanation: -Event organisation is one of the larger areas from which I drew money. I assembled and utilised a very professional team with which we shifted over 700 people into a premium, black tie event with attractions such as a chocolate fountain and popular DJ's. The online campaign of this event was hugely successful and consolidated the work of the team. -Online fundraising was very important. Facebook is the ideal medium for gaining reach for this profile. I pushed this profile from my Facebook profile on a fortnightly basis, with most of these posts falling on or around pay days. These posts had a reach of up to eight thousand people. -Corporate fundraising was also a large contributor. I approached numerous businesses searching for a larger donation in exchange for coverage of their donation and managed to get a hefty one from a food chain for which I manage branding and online marketing.

Next year: If I can participate next year, I aim to use similar streams to fundraise while introducing some new innovative streams also. it is imaginable that next year, fundraising will move a lot more swiftly given that a lot of participants will have the experience of this year behind them. I plan on being at the forefront of this swift fundraising movement in aid of such an amazing cause, once more!
