Thanks very much for taking your time to read my 100 minds profile.
My name is James Hanley and I am a second year student in UCD. I will constantly be updating this page as my fundraising campaign takes fold. Please share with all your friends.
I got involved with 100 minds as it gave me the opportunity to improve my entrepreneurial , communicating and organisational skills while helping out a great cause. It was good to see this backed by companies such as Microsoft, Google etc. and this really helped it stick out for me. The fact that this is the pilot year also added to the experience as it is new to us all and makes it all the more exciting. I am delighted to partake especially as all the funds go to Temple Street Hospital.
Temple Street does amazing work each day and the 100,000 euro will really help them out. 60,000 will go towards machine and equipment purchases which constantly has to be updated. 27,000 will be spent by Temple Street to help make the hospital more normal for the children. It will go towards seasonal parties, pet therapy and game consoles. Finally the last 13,000 will be to help support the family as it can be a huge financial and emotional strain on the family who has a child going in and out of hospital.
Any donations are greatly appreciated and you can do so through this page. All donations are transparent and you can do so anonymously if you wish. If you would like to learn more or get involved you can contact me by e-mail at james.hanley@ucdconnect.ie. Thanks
1st Phase - My journey began with the official launch in which I met my mentor John Lannin and got the chance to network with the other fellow members. It was amazing to hear all the great ideas and thoughts of the other members. This really kick started my brain storm as what I could do to raise the money and was even more excited about the project than ever. I came up with loads of ideas such as a student v lecturer debate, a rugby charity match and Ball. I contacted members of societies in college , team mates ,school mates ,friends and family to try and spread my profile for this project. So far my old class have decided to have a christmas dinner together in aid of Temple Street. No other plans are fully decided yet but will keep posted
