100 minds is a wonderful opportunity for me to raise funds for a brilliant cause : Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Having been an inpatient of the hospital and having worked there as a Radiography student I am well aware how my small contribution could make a big difference to the lives of the staff, children and their families who attend Temple Street. By both raising awareness and fundraising for the hospital, I hope to be able to improve conditions and treatment facilities there.
I would be extremely grateful if you could support me by donating a few euro to help me reach the target of €1000, every donation counts, no matter how big or small. I will be organising fundraising events over the next few months so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to support Temple Street. Together we can make a big difference to the lives of these sick children and their families.
I will be writing a blog during my fundraising so if you would like to see how I'm getting on just click on the link below :

Christmas Pub Crawl
Posted: over 9 years ago
My first fundraiser will take place on Saturday December 21st in Thurles. The Christmas Pub Crawl will kick off at 8pm in Noel Ryan's. It promises to be a great night with drinks promotions, free shots, goody bags and prizes on the night.
Dress code : Christmas jumpers and costumes are essential for the pub crawl. The sparklier, brighter and gaudier the better!! There will be a prize for the best effort on the night so let your inner Ralph Lauren out and get designing.
Tickets : a minimum donation of €10 will secure your place on the pub crawl.

Looking forward to seeing you all there :)

Make a Difference
Posted: over 9 years ago
I couldn't let the day go by without writing a small piece about the late Nelson Mandela. His legacy will forever illustrate the positive action that can come about when one man believes so wholeheartedly in the need for change. His belief in the need to support future generations, his particular interest in children and his endless philanthrophy mean he is a true inspiration to all 100minds participants and their followers.

Imagine

So often people are reluctant to donate to charity because either they don’t know where their hard earned cash is going, they don’t get to see the impact this money will make or perhaps they don’t realise what a massive difference a few euros can make. With the recent scandal regarding charitable donations being used to top up salaries of high powered executives, I wouldn’t blame anyone for questioning making a donation to any charitable organisation. However I am here to assure you, 100 minds is different.....

Spirit of Christmas : Christmas Pub Crawl
Posted: about 9 years ago
Last Saturday night, December 21st, I held my first 100 minds fundraiser, a Christmas Pub Crawl around Thurles. To say I was blown away with the response would be an understatement! The generosity and out pouring of support people showed was just phenomenal. I can't express enough gratitude to those who helped organise, run and enjoy the night. So many people made donations and joined in the craic, it was a thoroughly enjoyable night! We raised a massive €1,440 on the night which I had never even dreamed of.
I leave the link to my blog where I talk a little bit about the night, how grateful I am to all those who have shown such enthusiasm for the 100minds initiative and the affinity so many people have with Temple Street.

Happy Christmas guys and I hope you have a fabulous time celebrating with family and friends!
100minds Comedy Night
Posted: about 9 years ago
Plans are up and running for my second fundraiser which will take place on January 30th in The Laughter Lounge in Dublin. 3 comedians : Josh Howie, Ian Coppinger and Karl Spain will perform on the night. Tickets are on sale at the moment costing €20 for one or €30 for two. Everyone arriving before 7.30pm will get a cocktail on arrival and following the comedy there will be a house DJ for all those who can last the pace.
The Laughter Lounge is a great venue with a full bar, fab food and great atmosphere. There will be a photo booth also on the night so I hope you will all have been practicing your best blue steel poses.
It promises to be a great night for with all profits from the night going straight to 100 minds and the wonderful Temple Street. Tickets are limited though so if you would like to come along drop me an email at fahey.gra@gmail.com or contact me at (086) 8780844 before they are all gone!
January can be pretty bleak at the best of times so do come along for the laugh. In the words of Mrs Doyle 'Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on....'
The Finish Line
Posted: about 9 years ago
All good things must come to an end and what a wonderful thing 100minds has been. Here is a link to my blog post about coming to the end of my time as part of this project and what it has meant to me to be a participant. There's a few thank yous, details about the challenges of fundraising and a little bit about the fabulous Temple St. Enjoy and thanks for your support along the way.
