When I was 7, I was told that I had a rare form of pneumonia and spent 3 weeks in hospital and some time in intensive care. My experiences showed me how the facilities and staff in hospitals can greatly improve the children's time while in care. But this is not X-Factor so sob story aside I have other attributes that will contribute to 100 minds. I am ambitious and creative and feel I can plan and stage not just successful but also fun and memorable events.
I have selfishly neglected to get involved in any charitable events in the past so there exists a moral reason for my inclusion. I heard about 100 minds off a friend and when he explained the whole thing I was instantly intrigued and really wanted to be involved. I want to bring ingenuity and creativity to 100 minds so I am delighted I was given the opportunity to help.
Fundraising Path

I was chosen along with 99 others from 250+ applicants to individually raise €1000 euro for Temple street Childrens hospital, with the collective goal to reach €100,000. Instantly when chosen I knew the deadline was February 14th and that I needed to brainstorm and create my event to optimise my success. I decided to hold a Black-Tie charity ball, knowing I had zero budget to work with and needing to source every aspect of the event myself I dedicated 3 months to this project. I used all of the marketing and management knowledge I have gained while attending college both digital and direct to create a campaign and execute it with immediate effect.
The most difficult and troublesome aspects to source for the night where free goodies for the bags supplied to the guests and surprisingly enough the chair covers. This proved a testing experience as I hit many wall along the way, these deflated my confidence but through extended cold calls, dozens of emails and numerous direct approaches I managed to source all aspects needed to optimise the night. I did have some costs to cover, this was fixed into the ticket price. Aspects such as a Photobooth, Dj and Live Singer. I managed to cover all of these cost and still come out with €750 profit through my raffle on the night. This consisted of over 25 prizes, Tickets being sold at €5 for 1 and €10 euro for 3, then eventually we held a fire-sale and sold tickets for €1 this helped us boost sales and obtain essential profits. The venue of the event was Bewleys hotel in Ballsbridge, I haggled with the Hotel and got the meal per head reduced by €10 (Which helped boost profits by €1200) and also got the function room free of charge.
I successfully brought 120 guests to the ball, providing entertainment, a three course meal. To this date I have raised €3,070 and I am in the top 5 in respect to money raised for temple street. I use this endeavour as reference to my work ethic, marketing and management skills and hunger to succeed both personally and collectively.
