PET THERAPY for TEMPLE STREET Fundraiser; Dog Walk Series.
€2,000 of the money raised for Temple Street will go towards the pet therapy for the children at Temple Street. So drawing from this I decided to follow the animal theme.
We had dogs and their owners from Dublin and Galway out walking for the festive season to raise funds. Both proved to be enjoyable and sociable days, anything with animals generally brings fun!
The first part of the series was the Christmas series, held in Dublin at Sandymount Strand. We joined with Husse Dog Food who offered good nutritional advice, and lots of free treats-making owners and the dogs happy. Wonder Paws Trainers set up a great agility course so owners could test their training, or learn some much needed training! We had great spot prizes from DogWear Ireland as well as doggie treat from Pet Bliss and Maxi Zoo. Blazing Salads and Hansel & Gretel Bakery provided the tasty sweet nibbles to accompany the hot punch made by Mammy! And Amy Huberman popped in to show support also!
The second part of the series a New Year's Day Dog Walk and was in Galway this time. This was a much more casual event. The community met along the Corrib and the walk was led by a dog trainer. On return we had spot prizes again from our same sponsors and tea and biscuits from the mammy again.

We started the New Year off well with our Dog Walk on Wednesday. Despite the celebrations the night before people still made it out to Dangan to support the charity. Gold stars for them. And we raised over €400, wahey!
