Over the last four years I’ve learnt through the experience of my college course as I’ve worked in teams, dealt with different views and opinions, and worked on large time consuming projects. Through classes taken such as innovation, social innovation, social research and sociology I’ve learnt a great deal about communication, research methods and finding a balance in implementing different ideas. Outside of college I’ve done charity work for the Leprosy Mission where I spent two weeks India. As well as undertaking a variety of fundraising methods, I gained a great deal of insight into working with those who are sick and stigmatised despite having a curable disease. In India I helped build homes and re-integrate families into society, this has given me a great insight into difference, a project like 100minds can make to others. I’ve also done a great deal of fundraising for my sports club Old Wesley. Through sport, teamwork, planning and executing ideas and practices are key not only to success on the pitch but off the pitch too. As part of a senior player group I’m involved in organising events and communicating matters between players and coaches.
