Hi Everyone! My name is Alex Crean and I am a 2nd year student in Trinity College Dublin. I am delighted to have been chosen to participate in this year's 100minds campaign. For those of you who don't know what this wonderful cause is about let me give you a short introduction.
100minds was a revolutionary initiative set up from a simple idea. What would happen if 100 students collectively tried to raise a 1000 euro for a great cause? By combining the efforts of many, the campaign was able to achieve one great result, last year raising over 100,000 euro for Temple Street.
This year we have set our goals higher, aiming to raise 150,000 euro in three months for two fantastic children's charities. These are Barnados and Blossom Ireland, both dedicated to making this country a better safer place for children.
Barnardos work with over 8,900 children and families annually providing direct services, advice and practical support in 40 centres. Their work focuses on improving the life prospects of children who face barriers like poverty, abuse, neglect or bereavement. You can find out more about their worthy cause here (http://www.barnardos.ie/)
Blossom Ireland offers children with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to access what every other typically developing child can without difficulty. Through the running of educational and fun camps, they help these children learn new skills and develop in a manner tailored to them. (http://www.blossomireland.ie/)
I will be running fundraising events over the next few months so please come back to my page for more updates.
I would be incredibly grateful if you could donate to this very worthwhile cause. Every donation makes a difference no matter how big or small.
